Amazon is looking for a dynamic photographer with a strong portfolio that demonstrates the ability to raise the creative bar through commercially relevant imagery produced in a high volume, digital e-commerce studio. This person will directly manage a studio team of photographers, so the ability to lead others both tactically and strategically is essential. The right person will have an implicit understanding of the balance needed between artistry, communication, and partnership. The ideal candidate should be comfortable and accomplished working with both video and still photography. This person will bring innovation to high volume photographic workflows, reducing the operational cost while improving the quality of imagery produced.

RESPONSIBILITIES
· Day to day management and direction of the photography function
· Provide supervision as well as mentoring, training, development, and performance management of the photography team
· Partner with Studio Operations to support merchandise inventory management and ensure loss prevention
· Act as primary subject matter expert on all studio production software and analytical tools
· Directly engage technology and operations teams to efficiently resolve problems and implement process improvements
· Set studio staffing levels and photo budget
· Drive continuous refinement to the studio’s workflows and uphold Amazon’s high safety standards
· Execute high-quality digital photography and video for all categories used on Amazon’s worldwide websites
· Maintain consistently high standards for accuracy, aesthetics, and productivity

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in photography or related field
· Professional photography portfolio that demonstrates strong knowledge of digital photography, including: lighting, composition, color quality, and aesthetics
· Professional experience in a commercial photography studio
· Experiencing managing a team/function
· Technical experience with transition to hybridized still-and-video platforms
· Expert-level proficiency with the industry-standard software tools; further proficiency with basic scripting, color management policies
· Expert-level proficiency with DSLR functionality (both still and video) as well as all standard studio lighting techniques and traditional grip practice
· Proficient working knowledge of still and moving imaging software for Mac and PC platforms
· Working knowledge of PhotoShop and Capture One Pro
· Excellent English proficiency (written and verbal)

· Shooting experience in a high-volume commercial photo studio, across an array of client environments, including editorial, catalog, e-commerce, and advertising
· Accustomed to the high intensity level of an e-commerce studio environment
· Accomplished in hiring, developing and leading high performing teams and individuals
